Grass roots festival Above the Beaten Track has opened up submissions for this year’s event via Above the beaten trackReverbNation. ReverbNation’s mission is to empower independent Artists to advance their careers. Since 2006 they have provided powerful promotional tools to more than 3.8 million Artists worldwide and connected tens of thousands to industry opportunities and exposure.

Now in it’s eighth year, Above the Beaten Track will return on Saturday 5 September with the best in live music, DJs, artists, traders, makers and audio visual extravaganzas.

The festival re-located to the Bluecoat in 2010 to cope with growing demand. Originally conceived to celebrate the diverse range of Liverpool’s songwriters, it has since expanded to reflect a range of musicians, DJ’s, artists and makers to provide a fully immersive cultural experience.

Bringing the Bluecoat’s historic building alive, each room will house different aspects of the underground cultural scene, including two stages of live music, poetry, participatory events and live art.

Underpinned by a strong philosophy of inclusion, the free festival’s intention is to uncover the best of Liverpool’s acoustic underground. Above The Beaten Track prides itself on being a festival for Liverpool, celebrating its original talent.

Bryan Biggs, Artistic Director at the Bluecoat said:

“Above the Beaten Track returning to the Bluecoat in 2014 was really welcome. The event presents some of the best grass roots music talent in the region, and the format of the festival seems to suit the Bluecoat, with its informal atmosphere and accessible and varied spaces. We look forward to working with them again, which promises to be another packed day of quality music and associated fun!”
